We had such a wonderful time celebrating the love of Caleb and Shaunta! From the moment we talked with them, we felt such a connection. As they told their story to us over speakerphone, Caleb mentioned that the two had met at church. They are both very active and involved in their church, and Caleb admits that it was he who noticed Shaunta first and the fact that she was so involved with the church definitely drew him in. Shaunta giggled in the background as he admitted this, and chimed in that he had worn her down, and she was left with no more reasons to resist him! She said she wasn't sure about him at first, but after talking and going a out a few times, he started to grow on her.
So much so, that by the time he proposed, Shaunta said YES!
Friends and family could not have been happier to attend the wedding, as the church filled up with more guests than we had ever seen for a church ceremony! And Shaunta was ready to walk down the aisle as she was tucked out of sight and surrounded by her sister and best friends...
Caleb was looking good and excited for the ceremony as he tried to distract himself to keep the nerves away.
Caleb had built the arch that they would be married under, and the two could barely contain their tears as Shaunta was walked down the aisle by her father. The closer they approached, the less control Caleb had, and by the time Shaunta was before him, her father was handing her a handkerchief as well.
They exchanged beautiful vows and rings, prayed, held communion, and lit a unity candle to signify before everybody that they were now two, becoming one.
The day was gorgeous, as we headed to the State Capitol Park with the bridal party! The ladies in their hunter green gowns with their lavendar flower bouquets looked amazing, and the men were lively and full of laughter as they were all picture ready!
There was still so much celebration to be had! Onward to the reception, and the room was filled with family and friends eagerly awaiting the newlyweds! They enjoyed a romantic first dance together, followed by a father/daughter dance and dad surprised everybody with awesome dance moves and had the guests clapping on their feet!
Heartfelt toasts were given by family and close friends, and guests laughed as Shaunta's sister recalled Shaunta's skepticism of Caleb when they had first met and began to date. Guests shared amazement and tears as Caleb's brother explained how Caleb had sacrificed a kidney for him and shared the gift of life. And guests were in awe as friends and parents stood to explain just how much this amazing couple has meant to them in their lives.
As we listened to the toasts, it was obvious that these two are beautiful people, and as we watched them taking in each word and exchanging looks, smiles, and tears, it was obvious that they are an even more beautiful couple.
One of the most fun moments that created such a great memory for us happened as the evening came to a close-on the dance floor! The music was pumping, and everybody was having a fantastic time, a spontaneous Soul Train line began and it was awesome!
It was such a fantastic wedding! We had a beautiful time, and are looking forward to keeping up with the Sanders in the future.
Congratulations! We are so happy that the two of you found each other in this life! May you continue to look into each others eyes the same way you did this day-for all of your days!
