Dee Chrizel and Edmund have been together just over seven years, and are now engaged to be married! To celebrate their engagement, we headed to San Francisco. Twin Peaks, in San Francisco, is where Edmund proposed to Dee Chrizel-so it was important to them to return to that beautiful city for their session!
We decided to meet up at Bakers Beach. Once there, we noticed a small structure that was in alignment with the beach-just behind it. After further reading, we found that we were at Battery Chamberlin-named in honor of Captain Lowell A. Chamberlin-who had served with distinction in the Civil War. The structure was built in 1904. It was made to accommodate the lighter, stronger, more powerful coastal defense artillery developed in the late nineteenth century. Its main goal was to protect underwater minefields laid outside the Golden Gate during the time of war.
We figured this would be the perfect place to begin to take photos as the pair talked, laughed, and got reacquainted with each other since Edmund was only to be home for a short leave from the military.
When asked how they met, Dee Chrizel said they are high school sweethearts! Being high school sweethearts ourselves, we were so excited to be working with them so we could witness firsthand the love these two have for each other.
As the sun was starting to go down, we climbed up to the peak to get a better view of the beach and took a couple minutes to enjoy the view.
As they continued their journey after high school, three years into college, Edmund joined the Marines. Since the Military has become such a big part of the couples lives, it only seemed natural for Edmund to finish the session on the beach, in his formal uniform. Dee Chrizel had an awesome idea to bring the American flag as well. =)
The scene was beautiful...it felt as if these two were the only two in the world, and the sun was setting just for them.
It was such a beautiful evening spent with a beautiful couple. Even though it was windy and chilly on the beach that evening, you wouldn't have known it when seeing how comfortable they looked when next to each other or in each others arms.
Congratulations to Edmund and Dee Chrizel on their engagement! Just keep looking at each other with all that love and intensity, as you continue to move toward the future-when you become man and wife!
