We were so lucky to have beautiful weather and gorgeous light as we met with Howard and Kimiko in San Francisco to celebrate their recent engagement news.
They looked absolutely perfect together as they smiled and laughed with each other. With such great chemistry, we were definitely interested in learning more about them.
The two revealed that they had met at a work conference. As Howard was being recognized and earned an award for Engineer of the year, Kimiko was in attendance, and may have been a little impressed. Through the evening, the two met, and it was immediate attraction. That attraction was still quite apparent as the two exchanged glances and locked eyes during their time in front of the camera.
When we asked if Kimiko had any clue that Howard had planned to propose, she said 'absolutely not'. Howard was eager to recount the story, and told us about being in Maui with family. They had gone to the aquarium, and before leaving, Howard said he didn't have an exact plan of the perfect moment to ask her just yet, but had been carrying around the ring just in case the right time appeared.
As they were at the aquarium, their family went ahead and the two straggled behind to look at giant turtles. As Kimiko was looking away, Howard felt it was the perfect moment, and got down on one knee. He made a false claim that one had just appeared in his direction-but only to have her look his way as he held out the ring and asked for her hand in marriage.
Kimiko admits that he may have been on his knee for just a bit, as she was so stunned, it took her a minute to actually get the 'yes' out!
We really enjoyed getting to know the two of them, and are absolutely looking forward to their wedding which is only a couple months away! Their love for each other, and sheer kindness and beautiful energy definitely shone through, and we can see why they fell head over heels for each other.
