When we first met Se'Nyce and Marques in February, they shared their story with us and told us all about how they had met their Freshman year in college-over a game of tic-tac-toe. We spent time along the American River to capture photos of the beautifully engaged couple for their engagement session. At the time, they hadn't yet set a date for their wedding...but Se'Nyce had mentioned that it would probably be in 2018.
We figure that they must have had so much fun during their engagement session, and fallen even more in love with each other after the experience, that they just couldn't wait until 2018! Because only months later, here we were at the wedding of Marques and Se'Nyce-only minutes away from becoming Mr. And Mrs. White.
The ceremony was to begin at 6:30-which was sunset. The timing seemed perfect considering that it would be an intimate backyard wedding shared with close family and friends. Se'Nyce was getting ready at a nearby hotel with plenty of help and celebration going on as she did.
Marques had planned to meet his bride-to-be at the hotel, where they would have a first look...Se'Nyce was gorgeous as she approached Marques, and by the look on his face-he knew it too...
With some of the nerves out of the way, we took a quick detour just before the ceremony while we still had some beautiful light before sunset. Se'Nyce and Marques were able to spend a few minutes alone and really take in the day and the moment. They looked absolutely breathtaking in that moment, as they realized that they were about to say two little words that would forever unite them as husband and wife.
As the realization began, and the nerves started to come back just a little, it was time for the ceremony. We headed to the White House-where friends and family were eagerly awaiting the couple.
With Se'Nyce's sister Se'lyna as her Maid of Honor, and Marques's friend Demarcus as his Best Man, the four stood before their pastor as prayers were said, vows and rings were exchanged, and of course, all was sealed with a kiss!
Family and Friends congratulated the newlyweds and everybody was excited and eager to pose with the happy couple.
As happy and excited as everybody was through the night, it seemed perfect that Marques and Se'Nyce hadn't waited until 2018 for their wedding. They achieved a romantic and intimate setting just as they had imagined, and had all of their nearest and dearest there to witness.
They all celebrated into the night with delicious food, heartfelt toasts, and plenty of dancing, and drinks.
We are so honored that Se'Nyce and Marques shared their beautiful story and perfect wedding night with us. "It all started with a game of tic-tac-toe" they would recount. Details at the wedding even acknowledged the cute little game that had started it all. But as many times as they have told us their story-neither of them has mentioned which of the two of them won the game that day-or if it was even played to the end...
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. White! We think you both won!
